What “weight” means

Editorial trust, not popularity. It reflects how reliably a source links the primary material rather than reacting to a headline. Weight breaks ties when two sources disagree, and decides whether a single source is enough to justify writing anything at all.

Why latency differs

YouTube channels support WebSub, so the hub pushes a notification within seconds of upload. Everything else is polled with conditional requests — cheap for the publisher, and bounded by the interval shown. Polling stays switched on even for push sources: hubs drop deliveries, and a missed notification with no poll behind it means a story is simply never covered.

Every report links the coverage that surfaced it, by name, alongside the primary sources it was actually written from. How that distinction is enforced.
